Kelly Wayne Pierce was born in 1970 in Tampa, Florida, and grew up in the small town of Land O’ Lakes. His love for music started at a young age, but like many young dreamers, discipline wasn’t his strong suit, and he eventually set it aside. In 1989, Kelly began playing piano & guitar again and penned family favorites like A Father’s Love, If You Can’t Dream, and Guiding Light. While these “hits” didn’t top the charts, they became treasures within his home. By 1997, life’s path led him to put music on the shelf once more. Nearly two decades later, in 2016, while sitting in church, a moment changed everything. Mrs. Donna, a dear church member, tapped him on the back of the head with her fan and said, “Son, the Lord just told me you’re going to be writing and singing music again.” Kelly chuckled and replied, “No ma’am, I’ve retired from that.” Without missing a beat, she said, “That’s not what the Holy Spirit is telling me.” Kelly simply answered, “Okay.” From that day forward, the songs began to flow again. Since 2016, Kelly has written many heartfelt pieces of faith and hope. In 2022, his song "Hand in Hand with Christ" became a Semi-Finalist in the Song of the Year Songwriting Contest — a testament to the calling he once thought had passed him by. Then in 2023 Kelly's song "Just Like The Rain" was also the Semi-Finalist in Song of The Year! As of August 2025 Kelly is working on a new project titled "My Way Home" which is sure to touch the hearts of all who hear it.
